NVIDIA "Maxwell" and "Pascal" graphics architectures introduced support for modern display connectivity to keep up with the breakneck pace at which display resolutions are scaling up. The two introduce support for DisplayPort 1. Some of the newer monitors that leverage DisplayPort 1. Unfortunately, these issues cannot be fixed by driver updates, and require graphics card BIOS updates.
The app first unloads your driver, and flashes your graphics card BIOS a process which must not be interrupted, lest you end up with an expensive brick. Update: We have confirmation that the tool is intended for both reference-design and custom-design graphics cards. Found this description on PC Gamer. It also reapplies the current video BIOS during the firmware check, so if you're using a custom or modified BIOS, you should avoid running this tool, as you could run into issues.
I've had these issues for a few years with my Acer GHU Liquid Gold for Company's like Spoiler: well Giga for one but take your pick. We're unsure if the tool works only on reference-design "Founder's Edition" Because there are so many Founder's Edition Maxwells out there :wtf: This probably includes a BIOS flash that works on reference design cards.
But hearing it straight from Nvidia would be nice. Having it clearly stated in a readme that comes with the tool would be even nicer, but that ship has sailed. I suppose now we know why DP 1. No issues reported. If you have a custom BIOS and reflash with a generic one, the problem would be obvious. But that doesn't seem to be the case here.
If ever a piece of software was designed to brick your system Will Not Touch. I've replaced hundreds of video cables trying to figure out what the problem was, this is a very welcome update.Display Port No Signal FIX in 2 minutes NO COST
Still using HDMI. Lucky I won't need to bother.
Seems to work fine for most people though. I ran it on my Ti Strix and it worked perfectly. I don't even think this messes with the BIOS at all. That's why it is a universal tool. All drivers are properly installed and up-to-date.

Windows 10 incapatibility with Nvidias Geforce Ti : Hi I have a frustrating issue with my computer or rather windows I like many have forked out for a new ti graphics card from NVidia and my windows 10 installation cannot see it, all it can see is my onboard graphics which it installs straight away. I've contacted Nvidia tech support several times over the past week and they have been of little help. I was told that they were sending my issue to "level 2 testing" however they never got back to me. I've followed up a few times and I keep getting the same generic reply of "soon you will hear back. Nvidia claims that the video card supports audio and that it supports it through DisplayPort. I've read on other forums that there is supposed to be a section called "Set up Digital Audio.
I have all of the latest drivers as far as I can tell. Joined Aug 26, Messages 12, I've seen posts of other computers macbooks working with audio output via DP on the U I don't know if those peoeple used a soundbar or anything, but it shouldn't matter.
Gnasher [H]ard Gawd. Joined Jan 28, Messages 1, I think I saw a post somewhere else saying you have to connect something from the video card to the mb to get audio via DP on Nvidia cards. Thanks for replying, Gnasher - Yes, I learned about that recently, too. Nothing changed after plugging it in. I searched but never found any further instructions that I might have to do after plugging in the cable.

Yes No. Sorry this didn't help. Have you ever heard back no pun intended from anyone? I have the same problem. The gaming monitors you are using have no built-in speakers, like a TV would. No Microsoft OS software update can fix that. Connecting the rear headphone jack to 3. Headphone and mic out are the only audio-related outputs. That is indeed a very good question. However, if you plug in headphones you either get horrible noise together with no windows sound on audio output or it gives no sound at all on mic.
Nice try though. I didn't tell you guys the display had no speakers. April 7, Keep in touch and stay productive with Teams and Officeeven when you're working remotely. Site Feedback.
Tell us about your experience with our site. Nightragerz Created on October 25, Hi I am currently running Windows 10 Education Build The problem is persisting for over 2 years now.On my newly purchased Dell SDG, the display port does not work.
When I switch to it, the monitor says "No signal" and then goes into sleep mode. I already tried the obvious reboot, reset monitor to factory settings and then set the input to display part again, pull and check power cable, check display port cable on both ends. Go to Solution. I think this is related to DisplayPort issues after soft boot I described in my post. Did you try it? View solution in original post. Actually neither higher Hz nor gsync are enabled.
I could not ignore this and read everything I could find on the internet. The following may sound really strange, but: I found a blog post see here that suggest to:. And actually this works for me: the monitor comes back up with a signal from the display port and I can set higher Hz and activate gsync in the Nvidia control panel!
This is really strange.
Note that just unplugging the power and immediately plugging it back in does not help at all. You really have to wait for quite some time. When I read it, I thought it was internet voodoo that would never work, but there were dozens of comments underneath that post thanking the guy. So I tried it. And it worked. BUT: The problem is, that the effect does not persist.
So when I start the computer the next time with the DP cable on, the screen reports no signal and goes black again. Cut the power, wait 1 minute. There is no way I could do this every time I start the computer! So what could cause this issue?! And how can I fix it? Is it a problem of the monitor, the cable doubt thator the video card?
We know that the SDG is hardware capable of doing g-sync and the higher Hz settings. My guess is that your version of the GTX does not really support them. Nvidia has stated that the video card must have a MHz or higher pixel clock. Anyways, I tried it with the graphics card of a friend GTXand it works with his card. So this was not related the monitor or cable.
Maybe my card is weird. I already read about power issues, so I recently tried turning "power saving" off. Browse Community. Turn on suggestions.
